Privacy Policy

CaliforniaClimateMonth.org is run by the United States Green Chamber of Commerce. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we collect only what we need to run the calendar, the projects gallery and our newsletter, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

  • Event registrations: your organization, contact name and email, and the event details you enter. Event details are published on the calendar and map once approved. Your contact name and email are never published.
  • Project applications: your project details and optional photo, which are published in the projects gallery once approved, plus your name, email and phone, which stay private.
  • Newsletter signups: your email, and optionally your first name, city or zip code and the topics you care about.
  • Contact us messages: your name, email, organization and message.
  • Basic technical data: your IP address is used briefly to limit spam (no more than 10 submissions an hour) and is not stored with your submission.

How we use it

We use your information to review and publish your event or project, to reply to you, to send the newsletter you asked for, and to keep the site free of spam. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Services we rely on

  • The site is hosted by GoDaddy in the United States.
  • Emails from the site are delivered by an email sending service.
  • Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
  • If enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from people, and privacy-friendly analytics count visits.
  • Links to event organizers and partner sites take you to websites with their own privacy policies.

Cookies and your browser

Visitors are not tracked with advertising cookies. WordPress sets login cookies only for site editors. Forms save an unsent draft in your own browser so you do not lose your work; it never leaves your device and is cleared when you submit.

Your choices and California privacy rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. California residents, and everyone else, can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about them. Send your request through the Contact us form and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

How long we keep it

Published events and projects stay on the site while they are relevant. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages and rejected submissions are deleted when no longer needed.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
